重磅发布：上海交大设计学院专业硕士（国际）项目，全面启动

上海交通大学最早培养人居环境方面的设计人才，可追溯至20世纪初上海高等实业学堂。2017年12月学校整合全校设计类学科的优质资源，将建筑系、设计系及风景园林系重组成立了设计学院。上海交通大学以“创新设计”学科群涵盖建筑学、设计学与风景园林学三个一级学科，并已将其列入学校“双一流”重点建设的17个学科群之一。

Design education in the Built Environment at Shanghai Jiao Tong University can be traced back to the early 20th century. In December 2017, the University grouped design related disciplines scattered in different schools, and amalgamated three departments, Architecture, Design and Landscape Architecture, to establish the new School of Design. The new discipline cluster, incorporating the above three disciplines and named “Innovative Design”, has been identified by the university as one of the key 17 “double first class” discipline clusters which receive significant future support and investment from the university.

为改革和探索更加符合学科特点的人才培养模式，自2018年起，设计学院不断摸索，尝试了一系列创新举措，包括开设实践先锋课程、开辟实践型师资岗位、外聘Teaching Fellow参与课程教学等，成效颇丰——2019年QS世界大学学科排名中，学校“建筑/人居环境学科”（Architecture/Built Environment）位列全球第50位（中国第3位）；2020年上升至全球第47位，“艺术与设计学科”（Art and Design） 近年来也连续进入全球100强。

In order to reform and explore a talent training model that is more in line with the characteristics of the discipline, since 2018, School of Design has taken a series of innovative measures, including setting up practical pioneer courses, offering teaching fellow positions, and hiring external lecturers to participate in teaching, etc.. There’s no exaggeration that the results are quite fruitful.Shanghai Jiao Tong university ranking 47th in QS World University in “Architecture/Built Environment” subject in 2020. The “Art and Design” subject has been ascended the world’s top 100 in recent years as well.

学院目前面临千载难逢的历史机遇：“中国制造”转向“中国设计”的广阔前景，上海市“设计之都”与“科技创新中心”的地域优势，都让学院的未来充满希望。在上海交大世界级平台，以及一流生源、一流研究的基础上，设计学院正在打造国际化教育高地，汇聚全球顶级学者与设计大师，创建有交大特色、国际一流的设计学院。

About School of Design

基于此，设计学院立足构建科学技术与人文艺术融合的学术研究与人才培养平台，汇聚全球知名设计大师，打造国际合作办学高地，形成特色鲜明的创新设计学科群，开办建筑学、机械（工业设计工程）、风景园林三个专业硕士（国际）项目，并于2021年全面启动招生。

Based on the thorough groundings, School of Design devotes into building an academic research and talent training platform that integrates science and technology with humanities and arts, gathers world-renowned design masters, and creates a highland for international cooperation in running schools, as well as forms a distinctive and innovative design discipline group. Professional (International) Master Programs in Architecture (M.Arch.), Mechanical Engineering (Industrial Design Engineering, IIDE), Landscape Architecture (M.LA.) and will be officially launched in 2021.

项目坐落在上海交通大学徐汇校区。上海在中国近现代设计史中占有重要地位，每年在上海举办的设计之都活动周、上海时装周、中国国际工业博览会设计创新展等活动，活跃着中国的设计氛围。徐汇区“徐家汇源”是“上海文化”品牌及徐汇“海派文化之源”的重要呈现，徐家汇商圈汇集了世界一流品牌的产品和重要企业的办事机构，新兴西岸滨水文化创意区展现了城市发展与艺术设计、文化创新的深度融合。徐汇校区已有一百多年的历史，项目选址为建成于1932年的交大工程馆，其设计者是当时享誉世界的匈牙利建筑大师邬达克，在建筑艺术价值上具有显著地位和极高的价值，是上海高校中唯一一幢邬达克作品，也是设计专业学者和学生学习和向往的重要地标。

Our program will be held at Xuhui Campus, to provide students with unique learning experience soaked in the atmosphere with humanity and design atheistic, in the internationalized and high-density Xuhui District in downtown Shanghai. Shanghai occupies an important position in the history of modern Chinese design. The annual Shanghai Design Week, Shanghai Fashion Week, China International Industry Fair Design Innovation Exhibition and other activities held in Shanghai enliven the Chinese design atmosphere. “Xujiahui Origin” in Xuhui District is an important presentation of “Shanghai Culture” brand and “Shanghai Style”. The Xujiahui business district brings together world-class brand products and important corporate institutes, and the emerging Westbund Waterfront Cultural and Creative Zone, displays the deep integration of urban development, art design and cultural innovation. The Xuhui campus has a history of more than one hundred years.The Engineering Building is built with an Art Deco style by Laszlo Hudec, a world-famous Hungarian-Slovakian architect. With a prominent position and high value in architecture, the building is a famous landmark and destination for researchers and students in design fields.

项目旨在培养既有中国文化底蕴、高尚伦理价值，又有国际视野、求真精神，以人类命运共同体为己任，对世界设计思想做出贡献的专业领军人才。在这一导向下，三个专业学位均以培养领域内具有职业素养和国际视野的高层次实践型、应用型人才为目标。

The program aims to cultivate professional leading talents who acquire not only Chinese cultural heritage, noble ethical values, international vision and truth-seeking spirit, but also devote themselves to contribute to the common destiny of mankind and to thoughts of world design. Followed by this guidance, the program hopes to train professional leading elites and high-level applied talents with outstanding professional abilities and international vision.

建筑学学位（专业代码085100）获得者应掌握建筑相关领域的基本理论与方法，具有较高的设计水平和较强的专业实践经验与职业素养，能胜任设计、规划、工程建设和管理等领域的复合型、创新性和高层次专门人才等方面工作。既可在建筑设计单位从事设计与研究，也可从事建筑设计管理、教育、开发、咨询等方面工作，并有潜力成为本专业领域优秀的职业建筑师和高级管理人员。

M. Arch. (International) program cultivates candidates who are competent in the current career and future challenge of architectural design, historical architecture and heritage protection, urban design, design of building technology and other fields. Student in this program will be trained comprehensively. They will be capable of designing and researching in architectural design firms, as well as the work in architectural design management, education, development, consulting and other relevant aspects. We believe students who graduate from this program will have the potential to become an outstanding professional and senior management in Architecture.

主要研究方向包括：建筑设计及其理论；建筑历史与理论；城市设计及其理论；建筑技术科学。

Main research directions include Architectural Design and Theory; Architectural History and Theory; Urban design and Theory; Architectural Science Technology.

机械（工业设计工程）学位项目（专业代码085500）主要立足国家发展需要，面向高端装备、智能制造、互联网数字文创领域创新设计需求，以设计与智能科技、设计与社会转型、设计与生活方式三个方向为特色，通过课程建设、师资建设、人才培养资源建设，培养既有中国文化底蕴又有国际视野的专业领军人才。

IIDE program is mainly based on the actual needs of national development, and is oriented to innovative design in the fields of high-end equipment, intelligent manufacturing, and internet digital, cultural and creative industry. It features three research directions: Design and Intelligent Technology, Design and Social Transformation, Design and Lifestyle. Through curriculum construction, teacher construction, talent cultivation resource construction, students will become senior professionals of industrial design engineering with international vision.

主要研究方向包括：智能化设计；信息与交互设计；用户体验设计；设计战略与管理；设计文化与社会创新。

Main research directions varies from: Intelligent Design; Information and Interaction Design; User Experience Design; Design Strategy and Management; Design Culture and Social Innovations.

风景园林学位项目（专业代码095300）以服务国家新型城镇化和生态文明建设的国家战略为导向，综合运用科学、技术和艺术的手段，以协调人与自然之间的关系为宗旨，培养从事风景园林保护、规划、设计、建设和管理等领域的复合型、创新性和高层次专门人才。

M. LA. (International) program aims to achieve harmony between human and nature with a comprehensive application of scientific, technical and artistic approaches, Students who graduate from this program will be inter-disciplinary, creative, and internationalized high-quality talents engage in the professional field of landscape architecture planning, design, construction and management.

主要研究方向包括：风景园林规划设计；风景园林历史与理论；园林植物资源与应用；地景规划与生态修复。

Main research directions include Landscape Architecture Planning and Design; Landscape Architecture History and Theory; Landscape Plant Resources and Applications; Landscape Planning and Ecological Restoration.

Innovative Curriculum, Faculty and Training

三个专业硕士（国际）项目在课程创新上，对标国际一流设计、艺术及建筑学院，通过设置全英文专业学位硕士项目、引进先进课程体系，以“文化+设计”、“生态+设计”、“数字+设计”和“社会+设计”为研究基点，依托“多学科合作设计”实践平台，开设建筑学、工业设计、风景园林三个专业共享的平台课程，打破学科壁垒，真正做到大设计类学科的融合创新和资源共享。

In terms of curriculum innovation, benchmarking with international first-class design schools, we have set up fully-English based professional degree master program and introduce advanced curriculum systems which refer to “Culture + Design”, “Ecology + Design”, “Digitizaiton + Design” and “Society + Design” as research bases, and relying on the “Integrated Design Studio” practice platform, we offer three shared platform courses for architecture, industrial design, and landscape architecture, breaking the barriers of disciplines, and truly achieving integration innovation and resource sharing of major design disciplines.

师资力量上，项目以设计学院教师为主导，依托广泛的海内外合作关系及行业网络，外聘国际顶尖高校教师及行业优秀执业设计师担任课程教师及联合导师，保证了导师丰富的设计实践一线经验，培养学生的职业素养；加强海外导师占比，让国内优秀的学子不出国门，就能在上海交通大学接受到世界一流的全英文国际化设计教育，实现真正意义上的国际化办学。

In terms of teaching resources, the program dominated by School of Design faculties, however relying on extensive domestic and overseas cooperation relationships, industry networks, and external top universities and industry there are outstanding practicing designers who employed as teaching fellow and co-tutors, which enriches hands-on experience in design practice. Cultivate students’ professional quality; strengthen the proportion of overseas tutors, so that outstanding domestic students can receive world-class international design teaching entirely at Shanghai Jiao Tong University without going abroad.

培养模式上，项目内含丰富的海外高校交流交换机会，让学生体验不同设计文化，并有机会获得丰富的国际、国内顶尖公司的实习机会，培养工程设计经验、跨文化合作能力和国际视野。

In terms of training mode, the program contains rich opportunities of overseas exchanges to experience different design cultures, as well as rich internships in top international and domestic companies. Students will cultivate engineering design experience, cross-cultural cooperation capabilities and international perspectives.
