UUA建筑师事务所设计的阿里巴巴活动中心位于北京751文创园区的一座老厂房内，是阿里大文娱的活动、洽谈、交流场所。阿里企业文化中有着浓郁的中国情结，因此本项目便以“在一座老厂房里建造一个中式园林”为核心概念，既保有传统文人园林的基因，也有工业建筑和当代建筑的基因。

Alibaba Executive Activity Center, located in an old factory building in 751 Arts District of Beijing,is the activity, negotiation and communication site for Alibaba Entertainment. In view of thestrong Chinese flavor of the Alibaba corporate culture, the essential idea of the project is to builda Chinese-style garden inside an aged factory building, which shall inherit both the gene oftraditional literati garden and the gene of industrial architecture and contemporary architecture.

江南的传统文人园林一般均较小，容纳不了大场景；于是园中各景，无论假山水池还是一树一石，都试图指代更宏大的自然世界。在本项目中，我们将厂房视作园林的“界墙”，在这一片不大的空间之中，构建出一套“建筑”与“庭院”、“室内”与“室外”的中国文人园林的空间关系。在“界墙”之内，我们植入各个功能空间，模拟园林中的“建筑”；在“建筑”与“建筑”之间是雅致的“庭院”。空间如水一般在“建筑”与“庭院”之间流动，模糊了“室内”与“室外”的界限，形成了移步换景的文人园林的空间意象。

Traditional literati gardens in China are normally not so spacious to encompass a great numberof landscapes. For this reason, all the sceneries inside the garden, from an artificial hill to awater pool, from a tree to a rock, are always symbols of the immense nature. In this project,the factory is considered as the ‘boundary wall’ of the garden. Within this limited space, thespatial relationship featured by China’s traditional literati garden between ‘building’ and ‘courtyard’, between ‘indoor’ and‘outdoor’ is established. Inside the ‘boundarywall’, various functional spaces are inserted to simulate ‘buildings’ inside the garden;graceful‘courtyards’ are designed between ‘buildings’. The space, flowing like waterbetween‘buildings’ and ‘courtyards’, blurs the boundary between ‘indoor’ and‘outdoor’, thus satisfying the intention of building a classic garden where the scenery varieswith each step.

此外，本项目还以特有的方式回应了它所处的工业厂房以及它所处的当代语境。设计强调模数化和标准化，是对工业性的直接回应。通过一套600x600毫米的网格体系，空间、墙体、庭院、家具、铺地、吊顶、结构等元素得到有效控制，形成一个内在秩序井然的空间。同时，设计还大量使用标准化的建筑和家具组件，有利于精细化控制施工的品质，并降低工程成本、提高施工效率。

The project also responds to the old factory building where it is located and the mode timesof the project itself. Modularization and standardization are emphasized in the design as a directresponse to the industrial nature. Controlled by a set of 600x600mm grid system, all the designelements, including space, walls, courtyards, fuiture, floor pavement, suspended ceiling andstructures, etc. are arranged orderly. Standardized architecture and fuiture components areused a great deal to facilitate refined control of construction quality as well as to lower the projectcost and to improve construction efficiency.
