选址

我们于一年前开始启动新办公地点的选址工作，对于外物而言，办公空间不仅是工作的场所，更是我们审美与设计思维的直观表达。

We started the search for new office space a year ago, which, for WHY WOULD， is not only a place to work, but also an intuitive expression of aesthetic and design thinking.

新的办公空间及环境需符合设计事务所的品牌理念及态度，一处空高近8米、拥有整面玻璃幕墙的坡屋顶建筑最终成为我们新址的理想之所。

The new office space and environment shall be in accordance with the brand concept and attitude of WHY WOULD Design Studio. On this account, a gabled building with the height of 8 meters and a whole glass curtain wall eventually emerges as our ideal site.

办公新址位于新工厂文化园区内，园区前身为上世纪七十年代的武汉铜材厂，其承载了一代武汉人的记忆，被列为武汉二级工业遗产。

The new office of WHY WOULD is located in the New Factory Cultural Park which is formerly known as Wuhan Copper Material Factory in the 1970s. The old factory bears the memory of a generation of Wuhan people and is listed as the second-class industrial heritage of Wuhan.

后经武汉都市产业等相关单位改造，该建筑焕发新的生机，新旧工业元素延申到现有建筑上，曾经的老旧工厂蜕变成适合当代企业入驻的文化创意园区。

After the transformation of WuHan Urban Estate Investment & Development Group Co., Ltd and relevant units, new and old industrial elements are blended in the existing building, bringing new vitality into the old factory and turning it into a cultural and creative park suitable for contemporary enterprises to settle in.

建筑净空高约8米，整体外立面具有大面的玻璃幕墙，采光条件优越且建筑结构规整。基于以上硬件基础条件，建筑的主体能完整地支撑后续的空间设计，满足事务所的审美表达及品牌输出需求。

With a clear height of 8 meters and a large glass curtain wall as the overall facade, the building enjoys superior lighting conditions and a regular building structure. Based on the above basic conditions, the main body of the building can completely support the subsequent space design so as to meet the aesthetic expression and brand output of WHY WOULD.

经过数月的现场施工，外物WHY WOULD办公空间以全新的面貌呈现。

After months of on-site construction, the office space takes on a new look.

工作环境

设计延续了建筑的原始特点，同时保留了一些建筑的残缺与瑕疵。原建筑混凝土梁柱结构和坡屋顶露出原有的形态，空间的改造设计形成了新与旧的碰撞，在保留原始印迹的同时赋予其新的活力，这也是对百年工业文化的对话回应。

While preserving the original characteristics of the building, WHY WOULD also retains some defects and flaws of it. The concrete beam and column structure and the sloping roof reveal the original form of the building, and the renovation design of the space has fully manifested the collision of the old and the new elements. Such transformation preserves the original impression of the building while giving it new vitality, making it a dialogue and response to the century-old industrial culture.

开阔空高尺度为事务所伙伴们带来想象空间，助其保持高水准创作力。大面玻璃幕墙给予空间充足的采光和开阔的视野。

The open and lofty space provides an imaginary space for our fellow in WHY WOULD to maintain a high level of creativity, and the large glass curtain wall endows the space with ample lighting and an open vision.

作为具有年轻创造力的设计事务所，开放与自由是我们所倡导的文化理念。因此办公空间除了要保证工作空间灵活性，更要有助于伙伴之间的协作互动，交流与讨论的重要性被予以前置。我们重视每一位员工伙伴，为其提供良好的工作环境，并鼓励伙伴之间开放交流、表达个性，以舒适健康的状态进行工作。

WHY WOULD, as a design studio with young creativity, advocates the cultural concepts of openness and freedom. Ensuring the flexibility of the workspace is more conducive to prioritizing the importance of collaboration, interaction, communication and discussion between our fellow. In WHY WOULD, we believe that our employee fellow are the most valuable assets, and only a sound internal system and environment can create greater value for our project clients. Meanwhile, we encourage our fellow to communicate freely with other and express their personalities so as to work in a comfortable and healthy state.

会议洽谈

灵活开合的会议空间兼具内部会议及与委托方沟通方案的功能，无论是用于非正式沟通还是商务洽谈，都具有功能性与灵活性。此外，会议座椅均选用高品质丹麦进口产品，事务所从自身出发，希望将简约、品质与舒适的理念传递给伙伴与项目委托方。

The flexible opening and closing meeting space serves as both an internal meeting place and a place to communicate with clients about plans. Therefore, this meeting space is both functional and flexible whether used for informal negotiation or business communication. In addition, the space is equipped with high-quality conference seats imported from Denmark. Starting from WHY WOULD, we hope to convey the concept of simplicity, quality and comfort to our partners and project clients.

材料工坊

材料的研究与探索是外物的重要议题。收集材料与研发不同的应用方式是事务所的工作日常，我们坚信每一种材料都有其特有的魅力，可通过设计对材料的组合运用挖掘出其独特的内在价值。

The research and exploration of materials is an important topic of WHY WOULD, thus Collecting and developing various materials is our daily work in WHY WOULD. We firmly believe that every single material has its unique charm, and we excavate the intrinsic value of materials through the combination of design.
