项目位于杭州西湖区边上的凤凰国际创意园区，在改造前是一个被废弃的水泥厂，改造后成为一个集成艺术、影视、商业及运动功能于一体的社区，加上独特的地貌环境和景观条件，这里成为转塘颇具活力的文创场所。

The project is located in The Phoenix International Creative Park near the West Lake district of Hangzhou. Before the renovation, it was an abandoned cement factory. It turned into a community integrating art, film and television, business and sports afterwards. Combined with its unique geomorphic environment and landscape conditions, it has become a vibrant cultural and creative place for Zhuantang.

此次兰心公厕改造项目，保留了原建筑较独特的几何形态。建筑体量感与场地脉络契合，如雕塑艺术品一般回应整个场地曾经作为工厂的历史及其粗粝的工业化痕迹。

The renovation project of Lansing public toilet retains the unique geometry of the original building. Its sense of volume is in line with the context of the site, which like a sculpture, responds to the industrial traces of coarse sound of the whole place as a factory during the past times.

作为人流较大的功能性空间，设计师在保留原形态的前提下，希望公厕能成为一个开放、舒适、可以感受到整个场地景观的公共空间，吸引人进入，同时与外部环境连结。在内部，我们也希望来者可以感受到周围的山景、湖泊、空气，以及不停变换的光线。

‘As a functional space with large flow of people, Lansing toilet here is expected to become an open, comfortable public space that people can sense the beauty of the whole area on the premise of retaining its original form. It draws people in and connects with the outside environment. People would still be linked with the surrounding mountains, lakes, air, and constantly changing light....

基本功能区域的分割，在形式上采用轻盈又兼具半透明质感的材料——彩虹玻璃，在保证隐私性的前提下，使空间具有流动感，同时时刻反映内外部的活动，塑造一个亲和、活力的场所，从而与以往的公厕体验区别开来。

Thinking about the basic layout of the program for toilets, we used light in form, there is the translucent texture of the material selected - Rainbow Glass, on the premise of guarantee privacy, make the space has the sense of flow, at the same time always reflect the activities of the internal and external, to become an affinity, vibrant place, so as to distinguish from the past experience of public toilets.

通过不同几何元素的组合，我们让使空间具有变化，带来多样的体验感。空间以彩虹玻璃作为主要材料元素，又在厕位隔间及盥洗区设备等采用与其协调的同质金属元素，来回应整个场地混凝土作为主要材料的工业气息，使建筑融入整个环境的脉络中。

Through the combination of different geometric elements, the space has changes and brings diversified experience. Rainbow glass as the main material elements, toilet cubicles, and washroom equipment, etc., adopt homogeneous metal elements in harmony with them, while responding to the industrial atmosphere of concrete as the main material of the whole site, making the building integrated into the whole context.
