Pre-qualification Results | International Competition for Urban Design of Hangzhou Qiantang Bay Future Headquarters Base

杭州钱塘湾未来总部基地城市设计国际竞赛于2021年4月12日在杭州国际博览中心北辰大酒店钱江厅A召开资格预审会，资格预审评委会由7位专家组成（胡倩、刘克成、吕斌、王富海、曾坚、张勤、赵辰），吕斌担任评审组长。

The pre-qualification review meeting of International Competition for Urban Design of Hangzhou Qiantang Bay Future Headquarters Base was held on April 12th, 2021 at Hangzhou International Expo Center Beichen Hotel Qianjiang Hall A. The Pre-qualification Committee consists of 7 professional juries (HU Qian, LIU Kecheng, LV Bin, WANG Fuhai, ZENG Jian, ZHANG Qin, ZHAO Chen). Mr. LV Bin was appointed as the jury principal.

评委会对61名参赛申请人提交的资格预审文件进行审阅及深入讨论，经过五轮6次投票，最终评选出5个无排序的入围团队和2个有排序的备选团队。

After careful reviewing and in-depth discussion of the pre-qualification applications submitted by 61 applicants, and after five rounds six times of voting, the jury members determined 5 shortlisted teams (without ranking) and 2 alternative teams (with ranking).

评审前，专家集中前往钱塘湾未来总部基地、钱塘江沿江公园进行现场踏勘，充分了解项目基地，随后进入正式的评审环节。

The juries went to Qiantang Bay Future Headquarters Base and Qiantang River Park for a site survey, to fully understand the project context, and then started the formal review meeting.

评委会经过严谨的评阅，提出以下资格预审意见：

The committee issued following review comments after careful evaluation:

1. 本次竞赛得到了全球设计团队的空前响应，体现了不同的设计理念视角。

1. This competition has received an unprecedented response from design teams around the world, reflecting different perspectives of design concepts.

2. 资格预审评审委员会从设计能力、团队实力、工作态度等方面综合考量，选出入围团队。入围团队实力可满足竞赛要求，主创团队综合设计能力都较强。下阶段应要求各团队进一步充实团队人员，保证充分的投入。

2. The Pre-qualification Review Committee selected the shortlisted teams based on comprehensive consideration of company capability, team strength, work attitude and other aspects. The strength of the shortlisted teams can meet the requirements of this competition, with strong comprehensive design ability. In the next phase, teams should be asked to further strengthen their professional staff and ensure sufficient commitment.

3. 在下阶段竞赛中，希望设计团队能对总部企业功能需求、城市生活方式、城市配套服务等方面，开展研究，在业态、产业、交通、空间格局等方面有突破。

3. In the next phase, the design teams are expected to carry out research on the functional requirements of headquarters enterprises, urban lifestyle, and public supporting services, and make breakthroughs in the aspects of business type, industry, transportation, spatial patterns and so on.

4. 设计方案还应更好地呈现杭州当地文化，并应关注城市的动态发展，在设计上提出分阶段开发策略。

4. The design scheme should also better present the local culture of Hangzhou, pay attention to the dynamic development of the city, and put forward a development phasing strategy in the design.

杭州钱塘湾未来总部基地城市设计国际竞赛自2021年2月8日发布竞赛公告，至2021年4月8日资格预审报名截止，共收到61份参赛报名材料。其中联合体报名的参赛申请人有53个，独立报名的参赛申请人8个；共涉及152家公司，其中仅境外公司就吸引了Foster + Partners Limited、2Portzamparc、Zaha Hadid Limited、Mecanoo International B.V.、MVRDV B.V.等。

Since its open call was released on February 8th, 2021, the International Competition for Urban Design of Hangzhou Qiantang Bay Future Headquarters Base received 61 applications up until April 8th. There are 53 joint group applicants, and 8 independent applicants. There are 152 companies in total, among which, foreign companies included Foster + Partners Limited, 2Portzamparc, Zaha Hadid Limited, Mecanoo International B.V., MVRDV B.V. and so on.

报名所涉中国公司103家，国外公司49家；涉及中国以外的国家共计14个，包括德国、荷兰、法国、英国、美国、澳大利亚、西班牙、新加坡、日本、加拿大、比利时、丹麦、挪威和奥地利。

103 Chinese companies and 49 foreign companies participated in the open call stage. Other than China, application companies are from 14 other countries, including Germany, Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Spain, Singapore, Japan, Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Austria.

杭州钱塘湾未来总部基地位于杭州市钱江世纪城核心区块，北邻2022年第19届亚运会亚运村，南靠杭州国际博览中心（2016年G20峰会主会场）。未来，基地将集聚国内外龙头企业、国际组织机构总部、未来产业领域“独角兽”企业总部等，并通过对地下深度、地上高度、产出密度、开发强度的全方位构建，打造全球总部创新地和湾区活力未来城。

The Hangzhou Qiantang Bay Future Headquarters Base (QBFHB) is located in the core block of Qianjiang Century City in Hangzhou, adjacent to Asian Games Village of the 19th Asian Games in 2022 in the north and Hangzhou International Expo Center (main venue of G20 summit 2016) in the south. In the future, the base will gather leading enterprises, headquarters of international organizations, and headquarters of “unicorn” enterprises both in China and around the world. Through the planning of underground, above-ground, output density and development intensity, it will create an innovative place for the global headquarters and a dynamic future-oriented urban area.

本次国际竞赛分为两个阶段，第一阶段为资格预审及概念提案，入围的5个参赛团队将进入第二阶段（城市设计方案竞赛）。

The competition is divided into two phases. The first phase is Pre-qualification and Concept Proposal, and the 5 shortlisted teams will enter the second phase (Urban Design Scheme Competition).
